Meet
our
Patrons
We have been very fortunate to have two very dedicated tennis enthusiasts who strongly believe in the project and what it represents. Adam and Ian have provided the project with invaluable resources, connections and continued financial support
Ian McVeigh & Adam Caplin
Our Patrons
In 2015, Ian McVeigh and Adam Caplin (two Islington tennis fanatics) were discussing their discomfort with the limited reach of tennis. Cost, availability of courts and appropriate role models meant that sports like football and basketball (netball too) were seen as sports for all, while tennis was limited to the more privileged.
Why? Tennis is such a magnificent sport, and has so many great attributes including helping fitness, mental health, discipline and concentration. More people who have not had the opportunity to play should be introduced to it.
So Ian and Adam approached the local sports charity The Access to Sports Project, to raise the profile of their existing tennis programme by helping to fund, money raise and oversee a much bigger project.
‘Tennis for All’ was born.
